All-on-X Dental Implants

If you think your teeth are too far gone, let us take a look first (or second, or third). If this is truly the case and you are a good candidate, permanent dental implants may be the treatment of choice for you. In many cases, we can perform the entire treatment sequence right here at the clinic. From planning with a 3D scan, to the surgery, to making the teeth, we control every step of the process to ensure you get a durable, healthful, and pleasing result.

CBCT Planning

Measure twice, cut once. Planning a case from the desired outcome backwards is mandatory, and promotes a good outcome. Dr. Buie plans all cases and will demonstrate the plan to make sure you know what to expect

Surgery

Most surgeries are done in office with difficult or medically complex cases being referred to a local oral surgeon. What sets me apart from others is that I'll take extra time to make sure a tooth is extracted as gently as possible, preserving good bone and optimizing outcomes. Our team includes a CRNA with over fifteen years of hospital experience to offer sedation for surgical procedures.

Temporaries

Just extractions and grafts? Or extractions, grafts, implants? Are the implants firm in the bone? Regardless, we will send you home with teeth, either with a denture or a fixed/permanent temporary, to help have something to wear during the healing period. Sometimes there are special circumstances where we have to think outside of the box, but my promise to you is that I do whatever it takes to make patients as comfortable as the situation allows.

CAD Design

I do all CAD designs for temporaries, which are 3D printed with special durable resins, and for final prosthetics which are milled from a ceramic called zirconia.

Final Prosthetics

If you have an existing All-on-X prosthetic that has broken, it's probably plastic denture teeth on a metal bar, which is obsolete in 99% of clinical situations and prone to breakage.

We make our prosthetics out of a durable and esthetic ceramic called zirconia, and usually will reinforce the gum surface with a very biocompatible metal (unless requested not to). This ensures durability and peace of mind that you won't break your teeth eating something hard or crunchy.

Maintenance

IMG_8726.JPG

Just like anything that has a lot of use, All-on-X prosthetics and implants need to be maintained. After finishing treatment, standard protocol is to remove the prosthetic(s) after one year, then assess if one year or two years is a good span of time between removals. A regular cleaning with the prosthetics on with a regular dentist is highly recommended.
